Endeavor Adds CurlMix Co-Founders Kimberly and Tim Lewis to its Portfolio of Entrepreneurs
Endeavor today announced CurlMix Co-Founders Kimberly and Tim Lewis have been selected to join its Great Lakes portfolio of entrepreneurs. Kimberly Lewis, CurlMix’s CEO, and Tim Lewis , the Company’s CTO, were selected at Endeavor’s 96th International Selection Panel (ISP) in Bali, Indonesia. The ISP is the culmination of a rigorous multi-step selection process to identify high-growth entrepreneurs who demonstrate the potential to leverage Endeavor’s resources to create large-scale wealth and jobs, and who are committed to reinvesting in their local entrepreneurship ecosystems.
Founded in 2018, CurlMix is a premium haircare brand designed by and for Black women. The company offers a four-step hair care solution using natural flaxseed gel, designed to help Black women easily care for their curls in 21 days. After gaining traction selling CurlMix, the company launched “4C ONLY,” an additional brand focused on a younger customer that has the curliest hair texture classification, 4C curls.
“To have people who have advised billion dollar companies give you feedback…it was a pretty incredible experience — I couldn’t pay for that kind of consulting,” said CurlMix Co-Founder and CEO, Kim Lewis about Endeavor’s selection process.
CurlMix has established a strong customer base and community following with over 19,000 active Facebook group members and has been featured on Shark Tank, Forbes 30 Under 30, Oprah’s Favorite Things list in 2020, and ranked 93rd on the Inc. Top 5000 fastest-growing privately owned companies in the US. The company has raised $9 million in equity financing, with $4.5 million crowdfunding by 7K of the company’s most loyal customers.
As part of Endeavor’s portfolio, selected entrepreneurs gain access to an unrivaled global peer network of founders and customized global support services including introductions to local and international business leaders, investors and mentors. Kimberly and Tim Lewis will work with the Endeavor team to tap into the organization’s resources around the world, and ensure the company is well-positioned to unlock its next level of scale. As Endeavor Entrepreneurs, Kimberly and Tim also commit to pay it forward to future high-growth entrepreneurs in the Great Lakes region through mentorship and other support.
Curlmix’s selection marks Endeavor’s continued expansion into Chicago, which began in 2021 with the addition of Cameo Co-Founders Steven Galanis and Devon Townsend, and continued with Tovala Co-Founder David Rabie in 2022. Endeavor’s Great Lakes portfolio includes founders who have secured some of the largest deals in the Midwest including Workit Health, Benzinga and SkySpecs.
