2023 Ecosystem Predictions — U.S. Hispanics and the Future of Work

Prediction by Martin Claure

Founder & CEO, Aprende Institute

Aprende Institute is the leading online education platform that empowers U.S. Hispanics to achieve personal and professional growth by learning in-demand skills at their own pace and 100% in Spanish. With our aim to keep driving economic growth and job opportunities for U.S. Hispanics, we joined Endeavor in September 2021 through their office Endeavor Miami.

The Hispanic community accounts for 19% of the total U.S. population, and for the past decade, they’ve played a major role in driving its population and economic growth. Their impact on the economies of Florida, New Mexico, California, Texas, Arizona, and Nevada is trending up, as their share of the American labor force is projected to reach 35.9 million by 2030.

With this trend on the horizon and an accelerating shift towards new ways of working, how can we make sure that all U.S. Hispanics have equal opportunities to learn in-demand skills and keep growing at both personal and professional levels?

The number of Latinos in skilled occupations has increased by 5%. They are 1.7 times more likely to start their own business, and their economic contribution in the U.S. represents the 5th largest GDP in the world.

In-Demand Trending Skills for U.S. Hispanics

  • Construction, Building & Maintenance will grow 4% over the next decade, which means an increase in demand for skilled electricians, welders, plumbers, mechanics, and technicians.

  • Employment in food services is projected to grow by 9% over the next decade. This trend represents more opportunities for U.S. Hispanics to live the American dream in this industry.

  • Home health and personal care aids will account for over one million new jobs in the next decade. This will represent about 10% of all new jobs created between 2020 and 2030.

  • With a projection of Latino entrepreneurs making up 29% of the U.S. population by 2050, skills in financing, marketing, and business, among others, are sure to be in high demand.

Aprende Institute: An Eye to the Future

Our main goal at Aprende Institute is to make sure all U.S. Hispanics have the chance to improve their lives, grow, and turn their passions into income.

In 2019 we created a leading online education platform with over 40 study programs that give U.S. Hispanics the opportunity to learn in-demand skills to access better jobs or create their own business.

Today, over 150,000 U.S. Hispanics have already taken a variety of courses from our six schools: Entrepreneurship, Trades, Beauty, Wellness, Culinary Arts, and Hospitality – and they are now part of the millions of U.S. Hispanics that have transformed their lives through education.

  • 6 out of 10 affirm they are earning more income

  • 9 out of 10 claim they have improved their quality of life

We continue creating new programs and offering certifications that would help them expand their professional horizons and generate higher income across the U.S. in the future.
